History
Developed in 1948 by European fashion designer Sonja de Lennart, capri jeans (name originated from the Italian isle of Capri) began gaining popularity in the United States in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Capri jeans were greatly influenced by the popular television series The Dick Van Dyke Show.
Capri jeans are generally worn during the summer time. The Capri is related to another popular style of pant called pedal pushers, which are calf-length trousers. They are sometimes referred to as “clam diggers.”

Style Advice
Capri jeans are the perfect way to keep wearing your favorite denim look during the summer months. Try along with peep-toe pumps or ballet flats and a summery top.
Avoid wearing: boots and high-heels. Capris can look cute if paired in a casual way, but once you try to be a fashionista you’ve gone too far. Keep it casual!
