Like any other piece of clothing you care about, you always want to follow the care label instructions when washing your jeans.

1. DONT WASH JEANS TOO OFTEN
According to oki-ni.com, if you do chose to wash your denim use as little soap as possible and if you can find a neutral or non-biological washing powder, use it. Try washing your jeans after wearing them three to five times.

2. DO BE GENTLE
Always turn the jeans inside out since they might get unwanted crinkles from your machine. and Wash on the gentle cycle in cold water with like colors.

3. DONT TUMBLE DRY
Biological washing powder contains enzymes best avoided to preserve your denim. Don’t tumble dry. Even if you want shrinkage tumble drying doesn’t guarantee an even reduction. Also, the heat from the dryer will cause the color to fade faster.

Dry thoroughly, it can take denim up to 2 days to air dry. Hanging outside is best for your jeans but not always possible. If absolutely necessary, tumble dry LOW, but never until the denim is completely dry. Take your stretch jeans out of the dryer when they’re still a little damp and lay them flat to dry the rest of the way.
