Tis the season to impress! With the holidays fast approaching, we know finding the perfect thing to wear for every soiree can be a challenge. For gals, of course, you don’t want anything over-the-top yet you certainly don’t want to look underdressed either. A festive cocktail dress is always a safe choice but did you ever consider throwing jeans into the mix? Unlike the wear-once party dress, jeans can be worn many different ways. Pairing them with a few festive elements—lush velvets, rich jewel tones, crisp winter whites or sequined sparkles can give you that sophisticated pop, ideal for the holidays. Don’t worry we’re not forgetting the guys! To look hip in denim this season, choose a classic, un-distressed pair of black denim and pair with a preppy but modern button up. Accessorize with a great watch and some snazzy loafers for a fun twist on holiday dressing. See for yourself what exactly we’re talking about, check out our ideas below:

We’re excited to offer black denim as an option for custom jeans this fall. Our new Panther fabric is a cotton blend containing a little bit of polyester and spandex to ensure great shape retention and comfortable fit. So our next thought, of course, was what are some fresh ways to wear black jeans?
For a more formal look, take black jeans and pair with a demurely patterned neutral top and then, capitalizing on the contrast with the black denim, go for a bright pop of color in the form of a blazer. Black jeans are great because, like most black clothes, they streamline your silhouette, so pairing them with a black pump will make your legs look like they go on for miles. Add a brown tote to avoid being too matchy-matchy and some gold earrings, and you’re ready for anything.
Black jeans also look great for running errands. Pair your black jeans with a denim button up (denim on denim, another continuing trend) and playful charm necklace to lighten the mood. Top off with a bold colored bag and a neutral wedge heel for comfortable walking and off you go.
So these were our ideas about how to style our new black jeans. If you buy a pair of black jeans what are your styling thoughts?

indi gets black denim! If you are as excited about black denim being introduced to our design-your-own-denim line as I am, be prepared to answer the classic eighties question: “Does Barry Manilow know that you raid his wardrobe?” because when the ghost of eighties past crept up on the fashion scene in a skinny silhouette, black denim came close behind swinging for a T.K.O. By popular demand, indi is doing our part to bring back black denim in full force.
About the fabric:
Our black denim is a mid weight 11.5 oz fabric in 100% cotton. The Sable wash is slightly darker than the Black Slate and the Black Slate a little softer than the Sable.
Style Suggestions:
In case you’re already planning which style you will choose for your new pair of black denim jeans from indi, we’re expecting this fabric to best suit our SoMa with a narrow or tapered leg opening. For a fashion forward look, design your own black jeans to sit a little higher on your ankle by simply requesting a shorter than normal inseam.
Pair this style with black peep-toe slingback pumps and a colorful trapeze top and stylewise you’ll be good to go any day or night of the week!
